Mapping the path to Medicine

Mapping the Path to Medicine

Join the Black Physicians' Association of Ontario (BPAO) for an informative and engaging webinar designed to demystify the medical school application process for high school seniors, undergraduate students, non-traditional applicants, and their families.

You'll hear directly from current medical students, residents, and admissions staff from one of Canada's top medical schools as they share real-world insights, practical advice, and personal experiences to help guide your path into medicine.

This session will cover key components of the application process, including:

  • GPA requirements

  • The MCAT

  • Situational judgment tests (CASPer and Kira Talent)

  • Application components (autobiographical sketch, references, and personal essays)

  • Interview preparation

In addition, we'll highlight mentorship opportunities, provide valuable resources, and share strategies for overcoming the unique barriers faced by underrepresented students in the admissions journey.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend and will receive guidance on how to best support their aspiring medical learners.

An open Q&A will allow attendees to ask questions and engage directly with panelists.
